Crunchy Tofu Popcorn
Ingredients
- 1 block pressed and cut in cubes
- flour: 1t
- water: 2t
- panko breadcrumbs: 1/2 c
- salt and pepper
- olive oil to fry or less oil to roast
- for marinade:
- tamari/soya sauce/ liquid aminos: 4t
- sriracha : 2 t
- xylitol or sugar : 1 t
- ginger powder: 1 t
Preparation
Place tofu in a container with the marinade ingredients
Refrigerate at least for 2 hrs
Make a slurry with flour and water and place in a bowl
In another bowl place the panko breadcrumbs and season with salt and pepper
Dip tofu cubes in the slurry then coat with breadcrumbs
Fry in olive oil or spray with oil and roast till crispy
