Easy Homemade Citrus Juice Concentrate

Ingredients

  • 12 large oranges
  • 10 large lemons
  • 5.3 cups sugar
  • 1 tablespoon orange blossom water

Preparation

  1. Wash the oranges and lemons thoroughly.

  2. Grate the zest from one orange and one lemon.

  3. Juice the remaining oranges and lemons to obtain 4 cups of orange juice and 2 cups of lemon juice.

  4. In a medium-sized pot, combine the sugar, grated zest, orange juice, and lemon juice.

  5. Heat the mixture over medium heat, stirring constantly with a wooden spoon until the sugar fully dissolves and the mixture comes to a boil.

  6. Strain the mixture through a fine strainer to remove the zest.

  7. Stir in the orange blossom water until well combined.

  8. Pour the concentrate into glass jars or bottles with tight-fitting lids, allow it to cool completely, and store in the refrigerator or freezer.

Serving

  1. To serve, pour a small amount of the concentrate into glasses, add ice and water, and serve.
