Easy Homemade Citrus Juice Concentrate
Ingredients
- 12 large oranges
- 10 large lemons
- 5.3 cups sugar
- 1 tablespoon orange blossom water
Preparation
Wash the oranges and lemons thoroughly.
Grate the zest from one orange and one lemon.
Juice the remaining oranges and lemons to obtain 4 cups of orange juice and 2 cups of lemon juice.
In a medium-sized pot, combine the sugar, grated zest, orange juice, and lemon juice.
Heat the mixture over medium heat, stirring constantly with a wooden spoon until the sugar fully dissolves and the mixture comes to a boil.
Strain the mixture through a fine strainer to remove the zest.
Stir in the orange blossom water until well combined.
Pour the concentrate into glass jars or bottles with tight-fitting lids, allow it to cool completely, and store in the refrigerator or freezer.
Serving
To serve, pour a small amount of the concentrate into glasses, add ice and water, and serve.
