Rajma and Gahat Dal with Rice and Chutney

Ingredients

  • Rajma and Gahat Dal
  • Water
  • 1/2 teaspoon mustard oil
  • Chopped ginger
  • Chopped onions
  • Green chillies
  • Tomatoes
  • 1/2 teaspoon coriander powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon turmeric powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon red chilli powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon garam masala
  • Coriander leaves for garnish

Preparation

  1. Boil the Rajma and Gahat Dal in water with 1/2 teaspoon mustard oil and chopped ginger in a pressure cooker for 7-8 whistles.

  2. Remove the boiled pulses from the cooker.

  3. Add mustard oil to a pan, then add chopped onions, green chillies, tomatoes, and spices: 1/2 teaspoon coriander powder, 1/4 teaspoon turmeric powder, 1/4 teaspoon red chilli powder, and 1/2 teaspoon garam masala. Fry them.

  4. Add the boiled pulses to the pan and stir well for 2 minutes.

  5. Add water, close the pressure cooker, and cook for 6-7 whistles.

  6. Garnish with coriander leaves and serve with steamed rice and green mint chutney.
