Creamy Turmeric Chicken Pasta
Ingredients
- 1 package chicken breast, julienned
- 1/2 package penne pasta
- 1 package heavy cream
- 1 teaspoon turmeric
- 1 teaspoon curry powder
- Optional: mushrooms
- Optional: green or red bell pepper
- 1 tablespoon butter
- Vegetable oil, as needed
- Salt, to taste
- 1 teaspoon paprika
- 1 teaspoon black pepper
- 1 teaspoon thyme
Preparation
Boil water with 1 teaspoon turmeric and cook the penne pasta until done, then drain.
Mix the pasta with 1 tablespoon butter, 2 tablespoons heavy cream, salt, and a bit of vegetable oil.
In a pan, cook the julienned chicken breast with vegetable oil until done.
Add optional mushrooms and bell peppers, and cook until the water evaporates.
Add 1 teaspoon each of salt, paprika, black pepper, curry powder, and thyme, along with the remaining heavy cream, and stir well.
Serve the chicken mixture with the pasta, and optionally with a side salad.
Tips
Adding turmeric to the pasta water colors it yellow but does not significantly affect the taste.
Mushrooms and bell peppers complement the chicken well and can be added optionally.
