Ultimate Chocolate Thick Shake
Ingredients
- 1/2 cup gluten-free oats, amaranth flakes or quinoa flakes
- 1 frozen firm banana
- 1 cup plant-based milk (homemade or organic, unsweetened)
- 1 tbsp raw cacao powder
- 1 tbsp nut butter of choice (natural peanut works well)
- 2 ice cubes
- 1 tsp vanilla
- 1 tsp ground cinnamon
Optional additions
- 1 tsp pure maple syrup or brown rice syrup
- raw cacao nibs
- sliced strawberries
Preparation
In a small bowl, combine the oats or flakes with the milk
Place the bowl in the fridge and allow the oats to soak in the milk for at least 1 hour until they have softened
Once the oats are soaked, remove the mixture from the fridge and transfer it to a high speed blender
Add the remaining thick shake ingredients and blend on high speed until smooth
Top with cacao nibs for added crunch
