Traditional Turkish Beef Köfte

Ingredients

  • 1 kg ground beef
  • 1 onion
  • 4-5 cloves garlic
  • A handful of parsley
  • 1 green pepper
  • 1 red bell pepper
  • Cumin
  • Black pepper
  • Chili powder
  • Salt
  • 1 coffee cup semolina
  • 1 coffee cup breadcrumbs
  • 2 coffee cups water
  • 1 baking powder

Preparation

  1. Process the vegetables in a food processor and mix all the ingredients together

  2. Shape the mixture and place on a tray, then cover with plastic wrap and refrigerate for 4-5 hours

  3. Fry the meatballs in a little oil

  4. In the same pan, fry tomatoes and peppers

  5. Transfer the fried meatballs to a baking tray, add a tablespoon of butter on top, and bake at 200 degrees for 10-15 minutes

  6. Serve with fried potatoes
