Ingredients

Dough

  • 2 cups milk
  • 1 cup water
  • 1/2 cup vegetable oil
  • 1.5 teaspoons salt
  • Flour as needed (approximately 6 cups)

Filling

  • 500 grams ground meat
  • 1/2 cup olive oil
  • 1 onion
  • 2 garlic cloves
  • 1 red bell pepper
  • 2 green bell peppers
  • Grated tomatoes (quantity not specified)
  • Tomato paste (quantity not specified)
  • Spices to taste

Topping

  • Garlic yogurt
  • Parsley

Preparation

  1. Mix the dough ingredients and knead, then let it rest for 40 minutes

  2. Divide the rested dough into 60-70 gram pieces, roll out thinly, and cook on both sides

  3. For the filling, cook the ground meat until the water evaporates

  4. When the meat starts to dry, add onion, peppers, and oil, and sauté

  5. After sautéing a bit, add grated tomatoes and mix

  6. Finally, add tomato paste, spices, and water, and simmer until done

  7. To assemble, wet the edges of the lavash with the filling, layer with filling between each lavash, cut into quarters, add garlic yogurt, and serve

Tips

  1. Avoid using yeast to keep the lavash thin and prevent it from puffing up

  2. Roll the dough thinly for the best texture, as thicker lavash may not be ideal
