Pan-Fried Vegan BBQ Tofu

Ingredients

  • 2 servings extra firm tofu (about 1/2 block)
  • 2 tbsp vegan BBQ sauce
  • 1/2 tbsp avocado oil

Preparation

  1. Cut tofu into 1/4 inch or 0.5 cm thick slices.

  2. Lay slices between 2 cutting boards with a clean kitchen or paper towel, place a heavy pan or pot on top, and press for 10 minutes to remove excess liquid.

  3. Heat oil in a non-stick pan and fry tofu slices until golden, about 5 minutes per side on medium heat.

  4. Lower heat, pour BBQ sauce over the tofu to glaze the slices, and cook for an additional minute per side.
