Homemade Creamy Date Paste Sweetener

Ingredients

  • 25 dates, pitted
  • 200-300ml water
  • vanilla extract (optional)

Preparation

  1. Soak dates in 200-300ml hot water for 1 hour.

  2. Blend in a strong blender or food processor.

  3. Store in the fridge for up to 4 weeks.

  4. Use date paste in place of sugar or other sweeteners in cooking and baking.

  5. Try sweetening smoothies, oatmeal, and homemade salad dressings with date paste.

  6. Freeze date paste for several months; it remains scoopable.

  7. Add seasonings such as nutmeg, cinnamon, or a bit of salt if desired.
