Creamy Homemade Stracciatella Chocolate Shavings Ice Cream

Ingredients

  • 250 g heavy cream
  • 250 ml whole milk
  • 50 g sugar
  • 1 tsp vanilla paste
  • 100 g dark chocolate shavings

Preparation

  1. Whisk together the heavy cream and milk in a bowl

  2. Add the sugar and vanilla paste, stirring until the sugar is completely dissolved

  3. Chill the mixture in the freezer for 4 hours, stirring occasionally

  4. If using an ice cream maker, churn the mixture until creamy

  5. Without an ice cream maker, freeze the mixture for at least 6 hours, stirring every 30 minutes to break up ice crystals

  6. Once the ice cream is creamy and firm, mix in the dark chocolate shavings

  7. Freeze the ice cream overnight to allow it to harden completely

Tips

  1. The ice cream will keep frozen for at least one month
