Arabic Spiced Meat Pie
Ingredients
Dough
- 1.5 cups warm water
- 1.5 teaspoons instant yeast
- 2 tablespoons sugar
- 3.5 cups flour
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1 tablespoon olive oil
Filling
- 500 grams ground meat
- 1 medium onion
- 2 bell peppers
- 3 garlic cloves
- 1 tomato
- 1 teaspoon chili flakes
- 1 teaspoon paprika
- 1 teaspoon coriander
- 1 teaspoon mixed spices
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 0.5 teaspoon black pepper
- 2 tablespoons olive oil
- 2 tablespoons pomegranate molasses
For serving
- pine nuts
- pickles
Preparation
Mix dough ingredients together, knead until smooth, and let rise in a warm place for about 1 hour.
Finely chop onion, bell peppers, garlic, and tomato, then combine with ground meat and all spices, mixing well.
Preheat oven to 220°C (425°F).
Roll out dough into small circles, spread the meat mixture on top, and bake for 10 to 15 minutes until golden and crispy.
Serve hot, garnished with pine nuts and pickles.
