Classic French Cherry Clafoutis
Ingredients
- 750 g cherries (whole or pitted)
- 5 whole eggs
- 100 g cane sugar
- 120 g all-purpose flour
- 200 g milk (dairy or non-dairy)
- 50 g heavy cream (optional, may substitute with milk)
- 30 g orange blossom water (or rum)
Preparation
With a whisk, mix the eggs with the sugar.
Add the flour.
Finish with the milk and the cream.
Butter the container of your choice and sprinkle a little sugar at the bottom.
Place the cherries and pour the clafoutis batter.
Bake at 190°C for 15 minutes, then grill for 5 minutes.
Enjoy warm or cold as preferred.
Notes
Cherries can be whole or pitted based on preference to avoid biting on pits.
Heavy cream is optional and can be replaced with additional milk.
Orange blossom water can be substituted with rum.
