Homemade Vegan Pizza with Cauliflower Cheese

Ingredients

Dough

  • 3 cups flour (360g)
  • 1 packet of yeast
  • 1 tbsp sugar
  • 1 1/2 tbsp olive oil
  • 1 cup warm water
  • 1/2 tsp salt

Vegan cheese

  • 1/2 cauliflower (375g)
  • 3.5 tbsp tapioca flour
  • 1 tbsp nutritional yeast
  • 2 tsp salt
  • 1/2-1 cup non-dairy milk, unsweetened and no flavor

Pizza sauce

  • 3/4 cup tomato sauce
  • 1/4 tsp garlic powder
  • 1/4 tsp parsley
  • 1/4 tsp oregano
  • A pinch red pepper flakes

Preparation

  1. Mix all dough ingredients together, knead until smooth, and let rise in a warm place for about 1 hour or until doubled in size

  2. For the vegan cheese, blend the cauliflower, tapioca flour, nutritional yeast, salt, and non-dairy milk until smooth, then heat in a saucepan over medium heat, stirring until thickened

  3. Combine all pizza sauce ingredients in a bowl and set aside

  4. Preheat the oven to 220°C

  5. Roll out the dough on a floured surface, transfer to a pizza stone or baking sheet, spread the sauce evenly, sprinkle the vegan cheese on top, and bake for 15-20 minutes or until the crust is golden and cheese is bubbly
