Pistachio Puff Pastry Triangles with Syrup

Ingredients

  • 1 package puff pastry squares
  • 2 cups milk
  • 1/4 cup sugar
  • 1 teaspoon rose water
  • 1/2 cup pistachios
  • 3 tablespoons cornstarch
  • 2 drops green food coloring

For serving

  • Syrup

Preparation

  1. Heat the oven to 200 degrees Celsius and prepare shallow-edged trays.

  2. Place the dough squares on the tray.

  3. In a pot, combine milk, sugar, rose water, pistachios, and cornstarch, then mix with a hand whisk until the cornstarch dissolves.

  4. Place the pot on medium heat and stir gently and continuously with a wooden spoon until the mixture thickens, then let it cool slightly and add food coloring as desired.

  5. Put about two large spoons of filling in the center of each dough square.

  6. Close the square over the dough to make it like a triangle.

  7. Put the trays in the oven until golden brown.

  8. Serve warm in a serving dish, drizzle with syrup, and present.
