Pistachio Baklava Dessert

Ingredients

  • 1 packet filo dough or baklava dough
  • 1/2 cup melted butter
  • 1/2 cup corn oil

Filling

  • 1.5 cups ground pistachio
  • 1 tablespoon sugar
  • 1 tablespoon rose water or orange blossom water
  • 1 tablespoon syrup or nectar

Preparation

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C)

  2. Brush a baking dish with some melted butter and oil mixture

  3. Layer sheets of filo dough, brushing each with butter and oil, and sprinkle filling mixture between layers

  4. Bake until golden brown and crispy, about 30-40 minutes

  5. Prepare syrup by heating sugar, water, and flavorings if not using pre-made syrup

  6. Pour warm syrup over hot baklava and let it absorb

  7. Allow to cool and cut into pieces before serving
