Orange Noodle Stir Fry

Ingredients

  • Juice of one large orange (about 1/3 cup)
  • Zest of one orange
  • 2 cloves garlic
  • 1/2 inch fresh ginger
  • 1/4 cup maple syrup
  • 2 tablespoons soy sauce
  • 2 tablespoons rice wine vinegar
  • 1 tablespoon ketchup
  • 1 teaspoon garlic chili sauce
  • 2 teaspoons cornstarch
  • 1/4-1/2 teaspoon red chili flakes
  • 4 servings of your favorite noodles
  • 1-2 cups steamed broccoli (optional)
  • Baked tofu (optional)

Preparation

  1. Combine the juice, zest, garlic, ginger, maple syrup, soy sauce, vinegar, ketchup, chili paste, cornstarch, and red pepper flakes in a bowl and whisk until fully combined.

  2. Prepare the noodles according to package instructions and set aside.

  3. Heat a large pan to medium heat and pour in the sauce, cooking for about a minute to slightly thicken.

  4. Add the noodles and any additional vegetables or tofu if using.

  5. Use tongs or a spatula to move the noodles around and coat them with the sauce.

  6. Note that the sauce will continue to thicken after removing from heat.

  7. Serve and enjoy.

Tips

  1. Double the sauce recipe for extra saucy noodles or to pour on additional sauce when serving.
