Spicy Jalapeño Sesame Cauliflower Bites
Ingredients
- 1 medium head cauliflower
- any cooked grain
- 3 cloves garlic, sliced
- jalapeño slices
- scallions
- sesame seeds
- oil
Batter
- 3/4 cup all purpose flour
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- dash black pepper
- 3/4 cup water
Sauce
- 3 tablespoons sweet chili sauce
- 2 tablespoons soy sauce or coconut amino or tamari
- 1 tablespoon rice vinegar
- 1-2 tablespoons ketchup
- 2 teaspoons brown sugar
- 1 teaspoon maple syrup
- 1 teaspoon sesame oil
- 2-3 tablespoons hot water
Preparation
Cut cauliflower into small florets.
Whisk together the batter ingredients until no lumps appear.
Prepare a deep shallow pan with oil, dip the florets in batter, shake off excess, and shallow pan fry until golden brown.
Whisk together all the sauce ingredients.
In a heated pan with 1 teaspoon oil, sauté garlic until fragrant.
Slowly add the sauce to the pan and simmer on low-medium heat until it thickens, about 1-2 minutes.
Add the fried cauliflower, jalapeño slices, scallions, and coat until well combined.
Serve warm with your favorite cooked grain.
