4-Ingredient Vegan Cauliflower Pops
Ingredients
- 650g cauliflower florets (from 2 medium heads)
- 3 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 tsp salt, or to taste
- 1/2 cup all-purpose flour
For serving
- Chopped basil
- Tomato ketchup or favorite dipping sauce
For frying
- Canola oil or other neutral oil
Preparation
Steam or boil the cauliflower florets until cooked through.
Process until it turns into a very fine consistency, almost like mashed potato.
Transfer the mixture to a bowl.
Add the minced garlic, salt, and flour and mix well.
Scoop about 1/2 tablespoon of the mixture and form into small balls.
Heat oil in a frying pan.
Once hot, add the balls and cook in batches if necessary until golden brown and crisp on all sides.
Remove from pan and drain excess oil on a strainer.
Turn off heat after all balls are cooked.
Garnish with chopped basil if desired.
Serve with your favorite dipping sauce.
Baking option
Heat oven to 350F.
Place balls on a baking tray lined with parchment paper.
Brush the balls with some oil.
Bake for 40-45 minutes, flipping halfway through, or until brown on each side.
