Baked Tofu with Sesame Soy Sauce
Ingredients
- 14oz extra firm tofu
- 2 tbsp tamari/soy sauce
Sauce
- 1/2 cup tamari/soy sauce
- 1/2 cup water
- 1 tbsp arrowroot
- 2 tbsp maple syrup
- 1 tsp toasted sesame oil
- 2 tbsp toasted sesame seeds
- 1 tsp rice vinegar
- 1 inch piece of ginger
- 2 garlic cloves
Preparation
Preheat oven to 400 F, cut tofu into 8 slabs width wise, cut slabs in half, then slice halves into triangles
Place slices on a kitchen towel, with another towel on top, then gently place a heavy pan on top to squeeze out extra water for 10 minutes
Place tofu pieces on a parchment lined baking sheet and brush with tamari until coated on all sides
Bake for 15-20 minutes, gently flipping halfway
While tofu is baking, make the sauce by whisking together all the sauce ingredients in a small saucepan over medium heat for 2-3 minutes
Pour the sauce over the baked tofu and mix with the rest of your dish
