Carrot Cake with Carrot Sauce
Ingredients
- 3 eggs
- 1 cup sugar
- 1/2 cup milk
- 1/2 cup oil
- 2 tablespoons baking powder
- 1/2 teaspoon vanilla
- 2.5 cups flour
- 1 cup grated carrot
Sauce
- 1 cup carrot water
- 1 heaping tablespoon cornstarch
- 3 tablespoons sugar
- 1/2 teaspoon vanilla
- 1 tablespoon butter
Preparation
Preheat the oven to 170 degrees Celsius.
In a bowl, mix the eggs, sugar, milk, oil, and vanilla together.
In another bowl, combine the flour and baking powder.
Add the dry ingredients to the wet mixture and stir until well combined.
Fold in the grated carrot.
Pour the batter into a greased baking pan.
Bake for 40 minutes or until a toothpick inserted comes out clean.
In a saucepan, combine the carrot water, cornstarch, sugar, vanilla, and butter.
Heat the sauce over medium heat, stirring constantly until it thickens.
Allow the cake to cool before pouring the sauce over it or using it for decoration.
Decorate the cake with any desired toppings.
