Cocoa Striped Sponge Cake
Ingredients
- 4 room temperature eggs
- 1.5 cups sugar
- 1 cup milk
- 1 cup vegetable oil
- zest of 1 lemon
- 1 packet vanilla
- 2 packets baking powder
- 3 cups flour
For greasing the mold
- 1 teaspoon butter
For adding stripes
- Cocoa
Preparation
Preheat oven to 180°C.
Grease a 24 cm mold with butter.
Beat eggs and sugar together until light and fluffy.
Add milk, vegetable oil, lemon zest, and vanilla, then mix well.
Sift flour and baking powder together, and gradually add to the wet mixture, stirring until combined.
Divide the batter into two parts, add cocoa to one part and mix to create the stripe effect.
Pour the batters alternately or swirl them in the greased mold to form stripes.
Bake for 35 minutes or until a toothpick inserted comes out clean.
