Delicious Homemade Chocolate Cake with Frosting
Ingredients
Cake
- 5 eggs
- 2 cups sugar
- 4 tablespoons unsalted butter
- 200 ml milk
- 2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 cup cocoa powder
- 1 level tablespoon baking powder
Frosting
- 1 can sweetened condensed milk
- 1 can regular milk (use condensed milk can for measure)
- 4 tablespoons cocoa powder
- 1 tablespoon unsalted butter
- 200 g chopped semi-sweet chocolate
Preparation
Beat egg whites until stiff peaks form and set aside
Beat unsalted butter, egg yolks, and sugar in a mixer until creamy
Gradually add sifted flour and cocoa powder along with milk, mixing until combined
Gently fold in the beaten egg whites and baking powder
Pour the batter into a greased and floured cake pan
Bake in a preheated oven for 30 to 40 minutes
Remove from oven, let cool in the pan for 10 minutes, then unmold and let cool until warm
Pour the prepared frosting over the cake and serve
Frosting
Combine sweetened condensed milk, regular milk, cocoa powder, and unsalted butter in a saucepan
Cook over medium heat, stirring constantly, until thickened to a soft fudge consistency
Remove from heat and stir in the chopped semi-sweet chocolate until smooth
