Classic Marble Cake with Chocolate Swirls

Ingredients

  • 6 eggs
  • 2 cups (360 g) sugar
  • 1 cup (240 ml) vegetable oil
  • 1 cup (240 ml) milk
  • 3 cups (420 g) all-purpose flour
  • 1 tablespoon (12 g) baking powder
  • 4 tablespoons (24 g) cocoa powder

Preparation

  1. In a bowl, beat the eggs and sugar in a mixer for about 10 minutes or until doubled in volume

  2. With the mixer still running, add the oil and milk and beat a little more

  3. Turn off the mixer and gradually add the sifted flour, mixing gently to avoid deflating the batter

  4. Then add the baking powder and mix well

  5. Reserve a small portion of the batter (equivalent to 1 1/2 cups) and incorporate the cocoa powder, then set aside

  6. In a round 27 cm diameter tube pan, greased with butter and floured, pour the white batter, then add the chocolate batter

  7. Using a fork or toothpick, make circular motions to create a marbled effect

  8. Bake in a preheated oven at 180Β°C (350Β°F) for about 50 minutes or until golden

  9. Remove from the oven, let cool, and unmold
