Classic Marble Cake with Chocolate Swirls
Ingredients
- 6 eggs
- 2 cups (360 g) sugar
- 1 cup (240 ml) vegetable oil
- 1 cup (240 ml) milk
- 3 cups (420 g) all-purpose flour
- 1 tablespoon (12 g) baking powder
- 4 tablespoons (24 g) cocoa powder
Preparation
In a bowl, beat the eggs and sugar in a mixer for about 10 minutes or until doubled in volume
With the mixer still running, add the oil and milk and beat a little more
Turn off the mixer and gradually add the sifted flour, mixing gently to avoid deflating the batter
Then add the baking powder and mix well
Reserve a small portion of the batter (equivalent to 1 1/2 cups) and incorporate the cocoa powder, then set aside
In a round 27 cm diameter tube pan, greased with butter and floured, pour the white batter, then add the chocolate batter
Using a fork or toothpick, make circular motions to create a marbled effect
Bake in a preheated oven at 180Β°C (350Β°F) for about 50 minutes or until golden
Remove from the oven, let cool, and unmold
