Simple Moist Chocolate Cake
Ingredients
- 3 cups all-purpose flour
- 2 cups sugar
- 1 cup cocoa powder
- 1 cup vegetable oil
- 3 eggs
- 1 cup hot water
- 1 tablespoon baking powder
Frosting
- 3 tablespoons margarine
- 4 tablespoons cocoa powder
- 4 tablespoons sugar
- 3 cups milk
Preparation
Mix sugar and cocoa powder in a bowl
Add egg yolks and oil, mixing well
Beat egg whites in a clean bowl until stiff peaks form
Gradually add hot water and flour
Stir in baking powder, then fold in beaten egg whites
Pour into a greased pan and bake for about 40 minutes
Frosting
Combine margarine, cocoa powder, sugar, and milk in a saucepan over low heat
Stir continuously until creamy
Pour over the warm cake
