Simple Moist Chocolate Cake

Ingredients

  • 3 cups all-purpose flour
  • 2 cups sugar
  • 1 cup cocoa powder
  • 1 cup vegetable oil
  • 3 eggs
  • 1 cup hot water
  • 1 tablespoon baking powder

Frosting

  • 3 tablespoons margarine
  • 4 tablespoons cocoa powder
  • 4 tablespoons sugar
  • 3 cups milk

Preparation

  1. Mix sugar and cocoa powder in a bowl

  2. Add egg yolks and oil, mixing well

  3. Beat egg whites in a clean bowl until stiff peaks form

  4. Gradually add hot water and flour

  5. Stir in baking powder, then fold in beaten egg whites

  6. Pour into a greased pan and bake for about 40 minutes

Frosting

  1. Combine margarine, cocoa powder, sugar, and milk in a saucepan over low heat

  2. Stir continuously until creamy

  3. Pour over the warm cake
