Classic Simple Homemade Cake
Ingredients
- 1 1/2 cups milk
- 3 eggs
- 4 heaping tablespoons margarine
- 3 cups all-purpose flour
- 2 cups sugar
- 1 heaping tablespoon baking powder
Preparation
Beat egg whites until stiff peaks form and set aside
Beat egg yolks with margarine and sugar until well combined
Gradually add milk and flour, mixing continuously
Gently fold in the egg whites and baking powder
Pour the batter into a greased and floured tube pan
Bake in a preheated medium oven for about 40 minutes
Insert a toothpick to check for doneness; the cake is done when it comes out clean
