Carrot Chocolate Zebra Marble Cake
Ingredients
Carrot cake batter
- 2 medium carrots
- 2 eggs
- 1/4 cup vegetable oil
- 2 cups sugar
- 2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 teaspoon baking powder
Chocolate cake batter
- 3 eggs, separated
- 1 1/2 cups sugar
- 1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 cup cocoa powder
- 100g melted butter
- 1 teaspoon baking powder
Preparation
Blend carrots, eggs, oil, sugar, and flour in a blender until smooth, reserving baking powder
Pour the blended mixture into a bowl, add baking powder, and mix with a whisk. Set aside
Beat egg yolks and sugar in a mixer until well combined
Add cocoa powder and beat well
Add melted butter and then flour
Turn off the mixer, fold in beaten egg whites and baking powder gently
Grease and flour a 25cm round cake pan
Place a scoop of chocolate batter in the center of the pan
Place a scoop of carrot batter in the center of the chocolate batter
Continue alternating scoops of chocolate and carrot batter, placing each new scoop in the center of the previous one, until all batter is used
Bake in a preheated medium oven until lightly golden
