Baked Chicken Puff Pastry

Ingredients

  • 1 packet puff pastry squares
  • 1 egg yolk
  • 1 small pinch salt

Filling

  • 1/4 cup olive oil
  • 2 medium onions, sliced lengthwise
  • About 1.5 cups cooked chicken, cut into pieces
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1 tablespoon sumac
  • 1/8 teaspoon black pepper
  • 2 tablespoons fried pine nuts

Preparation

  1. Preheat the oven to 180 degrees Celsius.

  2. Mix the egg yolk with salt and brush it on the surface of the dough using a brush.

  3. Shape the dough as shown in the picture or leave it as is.

  4. Place the dough on a large baking sheet, bake for 20 minutes until golden brown and let it cool.

  5. For the filling, in a small pot, put the oil and onion and leave it on medium heat until the onion wilts, stirring occasionally.

  6. Add the chicken, salt, sumac, pepper and stir to mix the ingredients well.

  7. Spread the filling on the baked pastries, sprinkle with pine nuts and serve hot or at room temperature.
