Chicken Stew with Cream and Cheese

Ingredients

  • 3 pieces chicken fillet
  • 1/4 cup olive oil
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 teaspoon turmeric
  • 1 teaspoon paprika
  • 1 teaspoon ground cardamom
  • 1 medium onion, chopped
  • 4 cloves garlic, sliced
  • 2 green peppers, chopped
  • 2 medium carrots, cubed
  • 2 medium potatoes, cubed
  • 2 cups broccoli, cut
  • 2 cups mushrooms, cut
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • 1 cup cheddar cheese
  • 1 tablespoon parsley

Preparation

  1. Cut the chicken into approximately 1-inch cubes

  2. In a wide skillet, heat the olive oil, add the chicken. Sprinkle the salt, pepper, turmeric, paprika, and cardamom, stir until the chicken browns and is almost cooked

  3. Add the onion, garlic, pepper, carrot, potato, broccoli, mushroom and stir the ingredients together to sauté and absorb the spices

  4. Add the cream, cover the skillet and leave it on low heat until the vegetables are cooked

  5. Sprinkle a generous amount of cheese on top of the vegetables

  6. Sprinkle parsley and serve immediately
