Baked Chicken Tagine with Creamy Sauce

Ingredients

  • Chicken fillet
  • Salt
  • Black pepper
  • Flour
  • Oil
  • Onion
  • Garlic
  • Mushrooms
  • Butter
  • Stock
  • Lemon juice
  • Cream

Preparation

  1. Position the wire rack in the oven, preheat the oven to 180°C, and prepare a large oven dish.

  2. Cut the chicken fillet into large pieces and sprinkle with salt and black pepper.

  3. Place flour in a wide plate and coat each piece of chicken lightly in it, without doing all pieces at once.

  4. In a wide skillet or pot, heat the oil, add chicken pieces, and stir until golden brown, then transfer to the oven dish.

  5. In the same skillet, add onion and garlic, stir until aromatic, add mushrooms, stir until slightly wilted, then place over the chicken.

  6. In the same skillet, add butter and flour, stir until golden, add stock while stirring with a whisk, then add lemon juice and cream, stir to make a smooth sauce, and spread it over the mushrooms.

  7. Place the dish in the oven for 30 minutes until browned and golden, then serve hot.
