Spiced Chicken and Lentils
Ingredients
- 1 kg chicken cut into quarters
- 3 tablespoons corn oil
- 1 onion, finely chopped
- 2 cloves garlic, crushed
- 1/2 teaspoon chopped ginger
- 1/2 teaspoon garam masala
- 1/2 teaspoon turmeric
- 1/4 teaspoon chili
- 3 cups broth
- 1 cup crushed lentils
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
- 1 tablespoon chopped coriander
- 2 tablespoons lemon juice
For serving

Preparation
In a medium-sized pot, put the oil and heat it over medium heat.
Add the chicken and stir until golden brown. Remove to a plate and set aside.
In the same pot, add the onion, garlic, ginger, garam masala, turmeric, and chili. Stir for 5 minutes until the spice aroma rises. Return the chicken to the pot and stir for 5 minutes.
Add the broth and let it boil strongly.
Add the lentils, salt, pepper, coriander, and lemon juice, then simmer on low heat until the chicken is cooked.
Pour into a serving dish, sprinkle with coriander, and serve hot.
