Lavender Lemon Drop Cocktail

Ingredients

  • 2 oz (60 ml) vodka or gin
  • 1/2 oz (15 ml) orange liqueur [Triple Sec or Cointreau]
  • 1/2 -1 oz (15-30 ml) lavender syrup [recipe below]
  • Sugar-lemon zest rim
  • Lavender sprig, for garnish

Lavender syrup

  • 1 tbsp dried lavender petals
  • 4 oz (120 ml) hot water
  • 1/2 cup (100 g) granulated sugar or sugar substitute

Preparation

  1. Put your coupe glass in the freezer.

  2. Add vodka or gin, orange liqueur, lemon juice, and lavender syrup into a shaker with ice and shake until chilled.

  3. Rim your glass with sugar and lemon zest and strain your cocktail into the glass.

  4. Garnish with a sprig of lavender and enjoy.

Lavender syrup

  1. Combine 1 tablespoon dried lavender petals and 4 ounces hot water in a heat-safe cup, stir, and let steep for 2 minutes.

  2. Once steeped, add 1/2 cup granulated sugar or sugar substitute and stir until dissolved.

  3. Strain the syrup into an airtight container, let it cool, and store in the refrigerator for up to 2 weeks.
