Savory Pie and Mash
Ingredients
- 40g plain flour
- Pinch of sea salt and white pepper
- 10g block butter
- 10g trex
- 1 tbsp ice-cold water
- @tasteandglory_uk roast tenderstrips
- Gravy (Bisto southern style mixed with oxo veggie chicken cube)
- @jus_rol puff pastry
- Beaten egg
Preparation
In a bowl, combine the plain flour, pinch of sea salt, and white pepper.
Add the block butter and trex, then rub them together until the mixture resembles breadcrumbs.
Gradually add the ice-cold water and mix until the ingredients come together to form a dough.
Shape the dough into a ball, wrap it in plastic wrap, and refrigerate for 30 minutes.
Preheat the oven to 180°C (350°F).
Roll out the chilled dough and use it to line a well-greased pudding tin.
Fill the lined tin with @tasteandglory_uk roast tenderstrips.
Prepare the gravy by mixing Bisto southern style gravy with an oxo veggie chicken cube. Allow it to cool.
Pour the cooled gravy over the tenderstrips in the tin.
Top the pie with @jus_rol puff pastry.
Brush the puff pastry with beaten egg for a golden finish.
Bake the pie in the preheated oven for 20 minutes or until the pastry is golden and cooked through.
