Chocolate Brownies with Cocoa Sauce
Ingredients
- 150 grams grated chocolate
- 3/4 cup butter
- 2 cups fine-grain sugar
- 3 large eggs
- 1 teaspoon liquid vanilla
- 1 cup flour
- a pinch of salt
- 1/2 cup roasted chopped hazelnuts
Cocoa sauce
- 3 tablespoons soft butter
- 3 tablespoons unsweetened cocoa powder
- 1 tablespoon honey
- 1 teaspoon liquid vanilla
- 1 cup powdered sugar
- 1/4 cup milk
Preparation
Set the oven rack in the middle and preheat the oven to 180°C. Prepare a 9-inch square pan by lining it with aluminum foil and greasing the foil with butter.
In a deep bowl, combine the chocolate and butter. Place the bowl over a pot of simmering water on low heat and stir with a wooden spoon until the chocolate melts completely.
Remove the bowl from the heat. Add the sugar to the chocolate mixture and stir with a hand whisk until the sugar dissolves. Add the eggs, vanilla, flour, and salt, and stir until smooth and homogeneous. Add the hazelnuts.
Pour the mixture into the prepared pan and tap the pan lightly on the counter to level the surface.
Bake in the preheated oven for 30 minutes or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
Remove from the oven and place on a wire rack. Let cool for 5-6 minutes, then spread the cocoa sauce over the brownies. Allow to cool completely in the pan.
Lift the brownies out of the pan using the foil edges, cut into pieces as desired, and serve.
