Refreshing Watermelon Cantaloupe Lemonade
Ingredients
- 2 cups fresh watermelon juice
- Juice of 2 small-medium lemons
- 2 tablespoons maple syrup
- 2 cups frozen cantaloupe melon
- 1/2 cup filtered water
- 1-2 teaspoons pink pitaya powder
- Lemon slices
Preparation
Juice enough watermelon to make two cups of strained juice and add half of the lemon juice; mix and set aside.
In a small bowl, combine filtered water, maple syrup, and pitaya powder; whisk until combined and strain if necessary, then set aside.
In a blender, add the remaining half of the lemon juice and frozen cantaloupe; blend until it resembles icy slush and set aside.
Pour equal parts of the watermelon mixture into glasses filled three-quarters with crushed ice and lemon slices; add the pitaya mixture evenly, top with cantaloupe slush, and optionally decorate with marzipan lemons.
Tips
Use a tamper when blending for best results with frozen ingredients.
Decorate with handmade marzipan lemons colored with natural pigment powders for an ambitious touch.
