Kenny Rogers Style Grilled Chicken
Ingredients
- 1 whole chicken, cut into 4 pieces
- 8 cloves garlic
- 2 large onions
- 2 tablespoons sweet soy sauce
- 2 tablespoons oyster sauce
- 2 tablespoons black pepper sauce
- 2 tablespoons mixed herbs
- 1 tablespoon black pepper
- 1 teaspoon MSG, optional
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 4 potatoes
- 1 carrot
- Butter, for brushing
- Smoked flavor liquid, optional
Preparation
Clean the chicken.
Blend the garlic and onion.
Mix the chicken with the blended ingredients and all other ingredients and marinate for 1-2 hours or overnight for better flavor.
Meanwhile, peel the potatoes and carrots, boil them until cooked but not overcooked, then drain.
Mix the potatoes and carrots with the chicken marinade for flavor.
Arrange the chicken, potatoes, and carrots on a tray and brush butter on top.
Drizzle a little smoked flavor liquid if using.
Sprinkle mixed herbs and a little black pepper.
Bake in the oven at 250 degrees Celsius with top and bottom heat, then after 45 minutes, remove, brush with butter again to keep it crispy and not dry, and bake for another hour or adjust time, using bottom heat only for the last part if needed and monitor to avoid burning.
Tips
The smoked flavor liquid is optional but adds a great smoky aroma.
Marinating overnight enhances the flavor.
Adjust baking time and heat based on your oven to prevent burning.
