Homemade Meat and Mushroom Lasagna
Ingredients
- 400g lasagna sheets
- 2 cups chopped mushrooms
- half cup of each colored bell pepper
- one large onion
- 400g pizza cheese
- 300-400g ground meat or chicken
- salt and pepper to taste
White sauce
- 2 tablespoons white flour
- 50g butter
- 2 cups milk
- 1 teaspoon onion powder
- salt and pepper to taste
Preparation
Boil the lasagna sheets according to package instructions, then place in cold water to prevent sticking.
Prepare the white sauce by melting butter in a pan, stirring in flour to form a roux, and gradually adding milk while whisking until thickened; season with onion powder, salt, and pepper.
Sauté the onion until softened, add ground meat or chicken and cook until browned, then incorporate mushrooms and bell peppers, cooking until tender; season with salt and pepper.
In a baking dish, layer the ingredients starting with lasagna sheets, followed by the meat and vegetable mixture, white sauce, and cheese; repeat layers and top with remaining cheese.
Bake in a preheated oven at 180°C (350°F) for 30-40 minutes or until bubbly and golden brown.
Tips
Cooling the lasagna sheets in cold water after boiling helps prevent them from sticking together during assembly.
