Easy Berry Trifle with Leftover Cake

Ingredients

  • 1 packet vanilla pudding powder
  • 80 g sugar
  • 500 ml milk
  • 300 g cake leftovers (such as pound cake)
  • 500 g mixed frozen berries
  • 200 g heavy cream

Preparation

  1. Mix the vanilla pudding powder with sugar and 4-5 tablespoons of milk

  2. Boil the remaining milk in a pot

  3. Add the pudding mixture while stirring and simmer for 1 minute

  4. Pour into a bowl, cover with plastic wrap, and let cool completely

  5. Cut the leftover cake into coarse pieces

  6. Place one-third of the cake pieces in a 26 cm glass bowl

  7. Sprinkle one-third of the frozen berries over the cake

  8. Whip the heavy cream until stiff

  9. Fold the whipped cream into the cooled pudding

  10. Spread one-third of the pudding mixture over the berries and smooth the surface

  11. Layer the remaining cake pieces, frozen berries, and pudding mixture in two more layers

  12. Chill the trifle in the refrigerator until ready to serve
