- 4-8 slices bacon, cooked
- 4-8 slices of American-style cheese
- 1 white onion, sliced
- 1 beefsteak tomato, sliced
- Iceberg lettuce, shredded
- Pickles (optional)
Burger sauce
- 1/2 cup mayonnaise
- 1 tablespoon sweet relish
- 1 tablespoon ketchup
- Kosher salt, to taste
- 1 tablespoon white vinegar
- 1/4 teaspoon paprika
- 1/4 teaspoon cayenne pepper
- 1/4 teaspoon onion powder
Preparation
Prepare the burger sauce by mixing all sauce ingredients together in a bowl and set aside.
Cook the bacon until crispy if it is not already cooked.
Divide the ground beef into four equal portions and smash each into a thin patty, then cook on a hot skillet until browned and cooked through.
Butter the inside of the sesame buns and toast them on a skillet or grill until golden, adding slices of American-style cheese to melt on the buns.
Assemble the burger by placing the patty on the cheesy bun, adding bacon, sliced onion, tomato, shredded lettuce, optional pickles, and a dollop of burger sauce, then top with the other half of the bun.
