Stuffed Beef Burger with Cheese and Veggies

Ingredients

  • 1 kg ground beef
  • 1 large egg
  • 1/4 cup breadcrumbs
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 teaspoon mixed spices
  • 1 medium chopped onion
  • 1 medium chopped tomato
  • 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
  • 1 medium chopped sweet green pepper

For serving

  • Burger bread
  • Mayonnaise
  • Ketchup
  • Lettuce

Preparation

  1. In a food processor bowl, place the meat, egg, breadcrumbs, salt, pepper, and mixed spices, and blend on medium speed for one to two minutes until well mixed and smooth.

  2. Using a burger press, put some mixture in it, press to form a cavity, add chopped onion, tomato, cheese, and green pepper, cover with more meat mixture and press to seal.

  3. Alternatively, shape the patties by hand: form a patty, add filling, and seal well so the filling does not come out during cooking.

  4. Heat a grill until very hot, cook the patties for a few minutes on each side until browned and cooked through.

  5. Assemble the burger by spreading mayonnaise and ketchup on the bun, adding lettuce, placing the patty, and topping with the other half of the bun. Serve immediately.

Serving suggestions

  1. Serve with french fries and salad.
