Crispy Baked Falafel in Waffle Maker
Ingredients
- 1 cup dried chickpeas, soaked overnight
- 1/2 cup parsley, chopped
- 1/2 cup cilantro, chopped
- 1/2 cup yellow onion, chopped
- 3 cloves garlic
- 1 teaspoon cumin
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 teaspoon baking powder
- 2 tablespoons lemon juice
Preparation
Drain the soaked chickpeas.
Put everything into a food processor and process until combined. You may need to scrape the sides once or twice.
Heat waffle maker and spray with oil.
Make a mound in the center with 1 cup of the falafel mix.
Close waffle maker and cook for 10-12 minutes.
To get it even crisper, put it into an air fryer at 360°F for 5 minutes.
Eat it like a waffle with a drizzle of cashew tzatziki or cut it into strips and eat in a tortilla or pita.
