Crispy Baked Falafel Balls

Ingredients

  • 1 (15 oz.) can of chickpeas
  • 1 cup chickpea flour
  • 1 cup cilantro
  • 1 cup fresh parsley
  • 1/2 cup red onion
  • 3 cloves garlic
  • 3 tablespoons tahini
  • 1 tablespoon fresh lemon juice
  • 1/2 tablespoon cumin
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper

Preparation

  1. Preheat the oven to 400°F and line a baking sheet with parchment paper or a silicone baking mat.

  2. In a food processor, add all of the ingredients and pulse until the mixture forms a chunky dough– it will still seem crumbly but if you press it together it should stick together. Adjust salt and pepper to taste.

  3. Scoop the dough out using an ice cream scooper (about 1/4 cup), roll them into balls and place them on the lined baking sheet.

  4. Bake the falafels in the oven for 45 minutes, flipping halfway through.

  5. Remove the falafels from the oven and allow them to cool for 10 minutes before serving. Enjoy!
