Homemade Falafel Balls with Fresh Herbs and Spices
Ingredients
- 1 can of chickpeas
- 2 tsp cumin
- 3 tbsp rolled or quick oats
- 1/4 medium onion
- 1 handful of cilantro
- 1 handful fresh parsley
- 2 tsp garlic
- 1/4 tsp salt
- Optional: 1 tsp smoked paprika
- Optional: 1 jalapeño
- Optional: 1 tsp sazón
Preparation
Rinse and drain the chickpeas, then pat dry with a towel.
Add all ingredients to a food processor.
Process the ingredients together until the mixture is slightly crumbly but sticks together well. If you cannot form a ball without it falling apart, process it a little more.
Roll the mixture between your hands to make 12 even falafel balls.
For oven cooking: Preheat oven to 400°F and bake for 25 minutes on one side, then flip with a spatula to prevent sticking and bake for another 5 minutes or until golden.
For air fryer cooking: Set temperature to 370°F and cook for 9 minutes.
Serve as desired.
