Cream and Pistachio Puff Pastry Dessert

Ingredients

  • 1 packet puff pastry
  • 1/2 cup cream (qeshata)
  • 1/2 cup soft cream cheese
  • 1/2 teaspoon lemon zest

For serving

  • sugar syrup

For garnish

  • ground pistachios

Preparation

  1. Prepare muffin tins for cupcakes. Set the oven rack in the middle and preheat the oven to 180°C.

  2. Place a sheet of puff pastry on the table. Using a sharp knife, cut it into 4 squares. Repeat with the remaining sheets.

  3. Take a small square, place another square on top with corners offset, and place in the mold to form a cup. Repeat with remaining squares.

  4. In a deep bowl, combine the cream, cream cheese, and lemon zest. Mix with a hand whisk until blended.

  5. Using a small spoon, fill the molds with an appropriate amount of the cream mixture and sprinkle with pistachio.

  6. Place in the oven and bake for 15 minutes or until golden brown.

  7. Remove from the oven and immediately drizzle generously with syrup.

  8. Place the puff pastry sweet on a serving plate and serve.
