Baked Breaded Tofu Nuggets with Hoisin
Ingredients
- 14 oz firm tofu
- 1 cup oat milk
- 1 tablespoon apple cider vinegar
- 1 tablespoon soy sauce
- 1 cup whole wheat flour
- 1.5 cups vegan bread crumbs
- 0.5 cup whole wheat flour
- 2 tablespoons nutritional yeast
- 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1/2 teaspoon onion powder
- 2 teaspoons ground sage
Preparation
Press the tofu for an hour to expel water and cube it into small pieces.
Preheat the oven to 425°F and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
Mix the oat milk, apple cider vinegar, and soy sauce in a small bowl.
Place 1 cup of whole wheat flour in a small bowl.
Mix the remaining dry ingredients in a medium bowl.
Dip each tofu cube in the flour, then in the milk mixture, and finally in the bread crumbs mixture, then place on the prepared baking sheet.
Bake for 15 minutes.
Spray with a little oil, flip the nuggets, and bake for an additional 10-15 minutes. You can skip the oil but it makes them more crunchy and browned.
