Crispy Battered Tofu with Sweet Chilli Sauce
Ingredients
- 1 cup of flour
- 1 1/4 cups of water
- 1 packet of firm tofu
- 1 tablespoon of parsley
- 2 crushed garlic cloves
- 1/4 teaspoon of smoked paprika
- 2 teaspoons of salt
- Pepper
- 1 teaspoon of sesame seeds
- 1 tablespoon of spring onion for garnishing.
- Sunflower oil for frying
Chilli sauce
- 3 teaspoon of sweet chilli sauce
- 3 teaspoons of maple syrup
- 3 teaspoons of tamari sauce
- 3 teaspoon of balsamic sauce
Preparation
In a bowl add the flour, paprika, salt, pepper, parsley, garlic, water and combine.
Place the tofu in the prepared batter and coat well and fry. Do not over crowd the pot as it will make the batter soggy. Place on absorbent paper.
In a jar place sweet chilli sauce, maple syrup, tamari sauce, balsamic glaze and combine.
Place the tofu in a bowl and add the sauce and coat well. Sprinkle sesame seeds and spring onion.
