Green Onion and Garlic Tofu

Ingredients

  • 200 grams firm tofu
  • 1 tablespoon cornstarch
  • 1/2 tablespoon toasted sesame oil
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 3 tablespoons soy sauce

Topping

  • 1/2 teaspoon sesame oil
  • 1/4 cup chopped green onion

Preparation

  1. Preheat the oven to 400 degrees F.

  2. Cut the tofu into bite-sized cubes about 1/2 inch in size.

  3. Toss the tofu cubes in the cornstarch and line them up on a lined baking sheet.

  4. Bake for 20 minutes, then remove from the oven, flip the tofu over, and bake for an additional 15-20 minutes or until light golden brown.

  5. When the tofu has just a few minutes left in baking, heat the oil in a skillet.

  6. Add the garlic to the skillet and sauté for 3 minutes.

  7. Add the soy sauce and stir.

  8. Once the tofu is done baking, toss it into the garlic and soy sauce mixture until fully coated.

  9. Top with the green onion and sesame seeds.
