Vegan Sweet and Spicy Tofu Stir Fry

Ingredients

  • 1 block of firm tofu
  • 2 tablespoons of soy sauce
  • 2 tablespoons of maple syrup
  • 1 tablespoon of sriracha sauce
  • 1 tablespoon of sesame oil
  • 1 teaspoon of minced garlic
  • 1 teaspoon of minced ginger
  • 1/4 teaspoon of red pepper flakes
  • 1/4 teaspoon of black pepper
  • 1 tablespoon of cornstarch
  • 1 tablespoon of water
  • 2 green onions, chopped
  • 1 tablespoon of sesame seeds

Preparation

  1. Press tofu to remove excess water and cut into cubes

  2. Mix soy sauce, maple syrup, sriracha sauce, sesame oil, minced garlic, minced ginger, red pepper flakes, and black pepper in a bowl

  3. Whisk cornstarch and water in a separate bowl to make a slurry

  4. Heat a non-stick skillet over medium-high heat and cook tofu until golden and crispy

  5. Pour sauce mixture over tofu and stir to coat

  6. Add cornstarch slurry and cook until sauce thickens

  7. Stir in chopped green onions

  8. Sprinkle with sesame seeds and serve
