Brie Bites with Hot Honey

Ingredients

  • 230g Brie, chilled
  • 150g plain flour
  • 2-3 British Lion eggs
  • 200g panko breadcrumbs
  • 2 tsp dried thyme
  • 4 tbsp honey
  • 2-3 tsp hot sauce
  • Seasoning
  • Spray vegetable oil

Preparation

  1. Cut the Brie into equal chunks, around an inch or so. Mix the thyme with the panko breadcrumbs.

  2. Coat in seasoned flour, egg, breadcrumbs and then back into egg and breadcrumbs for a double coat.

  3. Freeze for 1hr-1hr30.

  4. Meanwhile combine honey and hot sauce to taste.

  5. Oil the air fryer, preheat to 200c.

  6. Add the bites, spray with oil and fry for around 4-5 minutes until crisp and golden. Keep an eye on them as you air fry, we want them out as soon as they are crispy and no cheese to leak. If you don’t have an air fryer you can deep fry these for 2-3 minutes, until golden, at 180c.

  7. Serve up with the honey and enjoy.

Notes

  1. This appetizer is incredibly moreish, uses only a handful of ingredients, and is very simple to make. The herby outer crumb combined with the gooey cheese and hot honey balance really well.
