General Tso’s Tofu Stir Fry
Ingredients
General tso’s sauce
- 1 tbsp soy sauce
- 1 tbsp sweet chili sauce
- 1 tbsp mirin
- 1/2 tbsp sriracha
- 1/2 tbsp cornstarch
- 1 tsp sesame oil
- 1/4 tsp ground ginger
- 1 garlic minced
- 2 tbsp fresh orange juice (I used the juice from one mandarin orange)
Tofu marinade
- 175g extra firm tofu
- 1 tbsp sweet chili sauce
- 1 tbsp soy sauce
- 1/2 tsp sesame oil
- 2 tbsp cornstarch
- 1 tbsp oil (for frying)
Preparation
Whisk all sauce ingredients until combined.
Cut tofu into cubes and press for 10 minutes using paper towels and a weight like a fry pan.
Combine tofu cubes with 1 tbsp sweet chili sauce, 1 tbsp soy sauce, 1/2 tsp sesame oil, and 2 tbsp cornstarch, mixing gently with hands.
Heat 1 tbsp oil in a pan over medium high heat, add tofu cubes, and cook until golden brown, flipping halfway.
Add the General Tso’s sauce to the tofu, mix well, and cook until thickened.
Serve hot with rice and veggies.
