Halim Seeds Ladoo for Winter

Ingredients

  • 1/2 cup halim seeds
  • 1/2 cup water
  • 1.5 cups shredded dry coconut
  • 1 cup jaggery
  • 1/4 cup mixed dry fruits
  • 3 teaspoons ghee
  • 2-3 teaspoons dry ginger powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon nutmeg powder

Preparation

  1. Dry roast the halim seeds until they crackle, then remove from heat and let cool

  2. Soak the roasted seeds in water for 10 minutes

  3. Add shredded dry coconut and jaggery to the soaked seeds, mix well and set aside

  4. Heat ghee in a pan and roast the mixed dry fruits, then remove from heat

  5. In the same pan, add more ghee

  6. Add the halim seeds mixture to the pan

  7. Stir the mixture on low to medium flame for 15 to 20 minutes until it becomes dry

  8. Remove from heat

  9. Once slightly cooled, add dry ginger powder and nutmeg powder

  10. Mix everything and shape into laddoos

Tips

  1. These laddoos contain no sugar and have a sticky texture similar to soaked chia seeds

  2. They are beneficial for weight loss, immunity, pregnancy, lactation, and reducing breast cancer risk

  3. Store the laddoos for up to one week in an airtight container
